Manuskript. Software for writers - 3

In this blog post, I will go into the areas of plot and world Manuskript offers.

Plot

In the plot window, we can define our plots. At the bottom are the + and the - to add and remove plots. The slider for importance has the same function as the one with characters, if you remember that from the previous post. -nog linken-

In the Basic Info tab, we can name the plot and define which characters play a role in it. It's up to you to use that option.

As you can see, I added a new character, Jonathan's girlfriend Charlene. Press the + sign, select the type of character (main, secondary, minor - sorry, can't provide a screenshot from dropdowns) and the name appears in the character list. Below that is the description of the plot, and in the Resolution steps tab, we can add the steps to come to the resolution of this plotline, if you have such steps available:

World

The world option works basically the same:

Click the +, and a new item appears. Call it what you need it to be, for instance "Earth and its problems".

Then, with that line, "Earth and its problems", selected, click the + again, and a sub-item appears for this world-building part:

This is where you can write down the issue, problem, the facts that rule. In the More tab there are input blocks for sources of passion and conflict you can add to this part of the world-building, if they apply to the subject. I'm not writing much about this, as I don't really use this feature. (I'm a pantser, not a plotter, after all.) Click around, find out what works for you. It might be a life-saver!
