Long overdue update

Yes, I've been very quiet here for the last few days. Weeks. Okay, months.

I've also been very busy with lots of things. One of them is "work", that hobby which eats up so much time.

Next to that, I acquired a new hobby. It looks like a harp, sounds like a harp and... yes, is a harp.

Nera was very helpful in making this a short video...

In writing parts, there is some progress too. I've dug up an ancient story I wrote back in 1982 or so, andΒ totally reworked it. It's called "Breen" for now, but that might change later.

His neighbour-woman, Tridin Gloa, looked at him. "Inui Kue. You again. Of course. When will you stop your attempts to blow up the entire street?"

Kue felt insulted. He was only trying to manifest certain things, not blow up anything. "As soon as I succeed," he said to Tridin Gloa. He straightened his back and tried to look proud, but the white dust all over his person and clothing destroyed his attempt.

I have no idea when I'll be done going over it, to make it suitable for publication.

Another oldie I remembered what that of a Druid in Roman times. His name is Rhys (pronounce it as Reese). That was a project which I wrote while on a mailing list. I've started writing the story again, from scratch (that was all I had left of it). It's going on steadily...

Druid
Rhys and Keyna had moved to the Druid village, and joined the others, who were still in training. Many of the older ones were gone for weeks, working as Druids for the nearby village, where they gained experience, but they always returned for more weeks, to learn more, and to teach the new ones, like Rhys and Keyna.

The two learnt how to read and write the Ogham, the ancient writing of the Druids. They learnt about the sun, the moon and the stars, about healing medicine and how to make it, and they learnt how to think, how to consider things from many sides, without emotional involvement.

And then there is a new story, which might end up in a series. The story is, for now, called "The Glass" and deals with an Earth woman who ends up on a strange world, a world shaped as a cube, where all kinds of odd things happen, wizards exists, and where Dark Elves, the Svartafar, look after her.

A window on the second floor opened and a dark-skinned man looked out. "Is that you?"

Dark Elf
"Jayden! It's me!" Inira exclaimed. "Never thought I'd be glad to see your ugly face again."

"And who's that?" the man called Jayden asked, without pointing, and ignoring the ugly face.

"Long story," Inira said. "Kind of an accident."

"Hey!" Kai disliked being referred to as an accident, even if her getting here was one.

So there you have it. Lots of things in the works, nothing finished yet.

Have a wonderful day, and let's be excellent to each other!
